Abstract The urbanised living in Malaysia is progressing toward having clothes dryers as essential household equipment. major problems with the commercially available dryer are high-power consumption and possible damage to environment. This study aims mitigate these issues an eco-friendly heat pump dryer. principle derived based on waste from condenser side of indoor air conditioner units. analyses feasibility potential a replacing drying methods. A small-scale was fabricated using low-cost materials, properties were measured assess shift process. prototype can dry faster by approximately 3 hours than outdoor at balcony. moderate gentle compared commercial high-temperature dryers. also indicates impact temperature settings time clothes. up 1.5 kg portable power rating HP. It found simple cost analysis that implementing significantly reduce equipment electricity
